Well dude I can’t really tell but let me tell you this. When you’re flexing check if there’s any fat over your abs. If there’s just a thin layer then there’s no need to lose any more body fat because a thin layer of fat is not unhealthy. But if when you’re flexing you can feel more fat between the rows of abs than you want, then I say go for it. NO I am not saying you’re fat at all.
And also, you can’t Lose Fat in certain places of your body by doing certain activities. It only works that way for gaining muscle. What I mean is by doing sets of crunches you are targeting and gaining muscle for your abs obviously, but let’s say you do some cardio that uses your abs and chest. You’re not just going to burn the fat there, you burn fat everywhere it’s stored. So if you have fat stored on your calves area but not on your stomach, chest, face etc then that’s just how you are. For example chewing gum for a long time burns calories lol but it doesn’t burn the fat calories in your face.
By the way I don’t go to the gym either and weights are very limited. But try out this site: http://www.hundredpushups.com When I started out on that site I could only do 20 consecutive pushups and now I can do over 80. If you can do less than 20 pushups I really recommend that site. If you can already do a lot of pushups then there’s really no point though because it’s just increasing your stamina and endurance and not actual strength.
Well back to the abs I don’t do situps anymore because I realized that when I do crunches I am only flexing my abs while I do them. When I did situps I was using my shoulders, neck, and back to help get me up. When you do crunches you sit the same way as situps but you flex only your abs and lift up only enough for the top of your back to come off the ground. This way the main muscle group targeted is your Abdominals.
